Redistricting -- another one bites the dust?

The Arizona Eagletarian has just learned that applicant Anthony Merrill is considering withdrawing his name from consideration for the vacant chair position on the Arizona Independent Redistricting Commission.

However, in the event that he does NOT withdraw, an intriguing fact about his professional relationship with state Rep. Amanda Reeve has come to light. From her legislative bio:
In addition to being a State Representative, Amanda is a paralegal for an Environmental and Natural Resources client-service practice at Polsinelli Shughart, P.C. She has experience in Superfund defense and cost recovery, hazardous-waste defense, environmental-insurance recovery, and a multitude of other complex litigation.
Merrill, according to his application, is an attorney for Polsinelli Shughart, P.C. His practice involves environmental damage liability and has written on insurance for environmental damage claims.

It's safe to say that Mr. Merrill would have an obvious conflict of interest, even if we overlook his membership in the Arizona Republican Lawyer's Association.
